Frequently Asked Questions
If you're exploring integrative wellness or considering working together, you may have questions about sessions, approaches, and what to expect. Below are answers to some of the questions I hear most often. If there's something you don't see addressed here, I welcome you to reach out.
-
What is an Integrative Wellness Practitioner?
I help people better understand themselves so they can create meaningful change in their lives. Rather than using a single approach, I draw from a variety of experiential tools that work with both the conscious and subconscious mind to help you gain insight, shift patterns, and move forward with greater clarity and ease.
-
Do you take insurance?
I am a self-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. If requested, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
-
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. Sessions are available both in person in Delray Beach, Florida, and virtually through Zoom. Many clients find virtual sessions to be just as effective as meeting in person.
-
How long is a session?
The initial session is 90 minutes to allow time for exploration and experiential work. Follow-up sessions are available in 60-minute and 90-minute formats.
-
What is subconscious work?
The subconscious mind influences many of our thoughts, emotions, habits, and behaviors. Sometimes we know what we want to change, yet something keeps pulling us back into the same patterns. Subconscious work helps us explore what’s happening beneath the surface so change can feel more natural and lasting.
-
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is one of the tools I may use within a session. It involves guiding you into a focused state of awareness where it can be easier to access insights, explore patterns, and connect with your own inner resources.
-
What is the difference between hypnotherapy and the work you do?
Hypnotherapy is one tool in my toolbox, but it is not the entirety of what I do. My approach is more integrative and may include a variety of experiential techniques designed to help you better understand yourself, process emotions, shift patterns, and create meaningful change.
-
What is IEMT and how is it different from EMDR?
IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Technique) is an approach that helps change the way you experience emotions and the way certain memories or experiences are stored in the brain. Many people describe it as helping them see a situation through a different lens, allowing old emotional reactions to soften and new perspectives to emerge.
While both IEMT and EMDR use eye movements, IEMT focuses more on emotional and identity patterns and often requires less discussion about the details of past experiences.
-
How does working with the subconscious mind help create change?
Many of our reactions, habits, and beliefs are influenced by patterns that operate outside of our conscious awareness. When those patterns begin to shift, it often becomes easier to respond differently, make new choices, and create lasting change.
-
Is this similar to therapy?
While there can be overlap in goals, my work is not therapy and I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. My focus is on personal growth, self-discovery, and helping you create positive change through experiential approaches.
-
How do I know if this is a good fit for me?
If you’re curious about yourself, open to exploring new perspectives, and willing to participate in the process, this work may be a good fit. Many of my clients come to me because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or ready for a new way forward.
-
What kinds of challenges do people typically come to you for?
People often come to me for support with stress, anxiety, confidence, self-worth, life transitions, emotional patterns, relationships, decision-making, and personal growth. Many are seeking greater clarity, peace, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
-
What if I don't know exactly what I want to work on?
That’s actually very common. Many people come in with a feeling that something needs to change but aren’t quite sure what that is. Together, we explore what is showing up and uncover the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be influencing your life.
-
Do I have to talk about painful memories?
Not necessarily. Many of the approaches I use can create meaningful shifts without spending a lot of time revisiting difficult experiences. Sessions move at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you.
-
What if I've tried other approaches and nothing has worked?
Many of my clients have tried other forms of personal development before finding their way here. Sometimes the missing piece isn’t working harder—it’s finding an approach that helps you understand the deeper patterns influencing your experience.
-
What can I expect during my first session?
We’ll begin by exploring what brings you in, what you’d like to create, and where you feel stuck. From there, we’ll move into experiential work designed to help uncover insights and begin creating meaningful change.
-
How many sessions will I need?
Every person is different, and there is no set formula. While some people notice shifts after a single session, I generally recommend committing to at least 2-3 sessions before deciding whether this approach is right for you, as meaningful change often unfolds over time.
-
Do I need to believe in hypnosis or subconscious work for this to work?
No. You don’t have to believe in any particular modality to benefit from the process. Curiosity, openness, and a willingness to participate are often far more important than belief.
-
What happens after a session?
Many people leave with new insights, perspectives, or a different way of understanding their experience. Sometimes change feels immediate, while other shifts continue to unfold in the days and weeks that follow as your mind integrates the work.
