When you hear the word miracle, what do you think of?

Something impossible suddenly becoming possible?

A diagnosis disappearing?

The right person showing up at exactly the right time?

Something happening that is so unlikely you cannot explain it?

We tend to think of miracles as huge, extraordinary events. Something outside of us has to change. Something almost magical has to happen.

Because of that, miracles can feel rare, random or even a little out of reach.

But a miracle does not always require your circumstances to change. In the spiritual framework of A Course in Miracles, a miracle can be understood as a shift in perception from fear to love. The situation may remain the same, but the way you experience and respond to it can change.

What if that kind of miracle is available to you right now?

What Does A Course in Miracles Say About Miracles?

A Course in Miracles, often shortened to ACIM, is a spiritual self-study text first published in the 1970s. At its core, it explores how our thoughts and perceptions shape the way we experience ourselves, other people and the world around us.

One of the ideas from the Course that has stayed with me can be expressed very simply:

A miracle is a shift from fear to love.

It does not require something extraordinary to happen.

It does not require the universe to rearrange itself.

The miracle can happen within you.

You can be standing in the exact same life, facing the exact same circumstances, and suddenly see something differently.

That shift is the miracle.

When you understand miracles this way, they stop being something you have to wait for. They become available in the way you meet ordinary conversations, difficult moments, relationships and uncertainty.

Can a Miracle Happen Without Your Circumstances Changing?

Yes. A miracle can happen before anything around you changes because the shift may be in the meaning you give the situation, the possibilities you allow yourself to consider or the way you choose to respond.

Think about how often we believe we will feel differently when something outside of us changes.

When I know what I am supposed to do.

When this relationship gets better.

When I make more money.

When my child is okay.

When I finally understand why this happened.

When I know what comes next.

Then I can feel peaceful.

Then I can trust.

Then I can be okay.

We are waiting for the miracle.

But the miracle may be available before any of those things happen. It can happen in the moment you move from:

What if everything goes wrong?

to

What if I do not know enough yet to know how this turns out?

From:

Why is this happening to me?

to

What is this showing me?

From:

I need this person to change.

to

What happens when I change the way I meet this?

The circumstances have not changed.

But you have.

From that new place, an entirely different experience becomes possible.

Is This Love or a Call for Love?

There is a question I love to use in my own life:

Is this love, or is this a call for love?

It is a simple shift, but it can completely change the way you experience another person.

Someone snaps at you.

Someone disappoints you.

Your child is having a difficult moment.

Your partner shuts down.

Someone behaves in a way you do not understand.

Our minds are incredibly quick to decide what it means.

They are selfish.

They do not care.

They are difficult.

They are disrespecting me.

But what if, before deciding what their behavior means, you asked:

Is this love, or is this a call for love?

Maybe the person you need to ask that question about is yourself.

The anxiety.

The overthinking.

The part of you that wants to control everything.

The part that is afraid.

Instead of judging it or trying to get rid of it, you might ask:

Could this be a call for love too?

That question does not excuse harmful behavior or mean you should abandon your boundaries. It simply widens the lens.

Sometimes that is enough to create a miracle.

How Can a Shift in Perspective Help When You Feel Lost or Hopeless?

When you feel hopeless or disconnected from your sense of purpose, your world can become very small.

Fear narrows the lens.

You begin looking at what is happening right now and projecting it into the future.

This is not working.

I do not know what I am doing.

Nothing is changing.

Maybe this is just how my life is going to be.

But you are looking at your life through one small window in time.

You cannot see the conversation you are going to have six months from now.

You cannot see the person you are going to meet.

You cannot see the opportunity that has not appeared yet.

You cannot see what will grow from the thing that did not work out.

You cannot see who you are becoming while you are in the middle of becoming them.

There may be more happening beyond what you can physically see. When you become completely attached to the meaning you have given the small piece in front of you, you leave very little room for anything else to come through.

A shift in perspective does not require you to deny reality or invent a positive ending. It simply creates room for the possibility that the fearful conclusion you have reached is not the only possible one.

Opening Your Perspective to What You Cannot See Yet

This is where miracles become especially meaningful.

A miracle asks us to loosen our grip on what we think we know.

Not to deny reality.

Not to pretend everything is wonderful.

Not to force ourselves to think positively.

Simply to acknowledge:

Maybe there is more here than I can see right now.

That creates space.

Instead of:

I have lost my purpose.

Maybe:

I do not know what my purpose looks like in this season yet.

Instead of:

Nothing is happening.

Maybe:

I cannot see what is happening yet.

Instead of:

This was not supposed to happen.

Maybe:

I do not know where this is leading me yet.

You do not have to make up a positive ending. You simply stop insisting that the ending you imagined from fear is the only possible one.

When the lens gets a little wider, something else has room to enter.

Why Miracles Do Not Have to Be Rare

Maybe miracles are happening much more often than we realize.

The moment you see someone differently.

The moment you choose compassion instead of judgment.

The moment you stop believing every fearful thought that enters your mind.

The moment you recognize that the meaning you have given something is not the only possible meaning.

The moment you allow yourself to believe that what you can see right now is not the whole picture.

The moment you move from fear toward love.

Those are miracles.

They are not somewhere far away.

They are not reserved for certain people.

They do not require perfect circumstances.

They are available in ordinary conversations, difficult moments, relationships, uncertainty and even in the seasons when you have no idea what comes next.

The miracle is not always what happens around you.

Sometimes the miracle is what happens within you.

How This Perspective Connects to Integrative Wellness

This understanding of miracles is deeply connected to the work I do as an Integrative Wellness Practitioner in Delray Beach, Florida.

People often come to me because they understand their patterns intellectually but still feel stuck inside of them.

They know they overthink.

They know they worry about the future.

They know they repeat certain patterns.

They know something needs to change.

But knowing something consciously and experiencing it differently are not always the same thing.

At Grounded Visions Wellness, I use experiential practices that work with both the conscious and subconscious mind, including hypnotherapy, Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT), Mindscaping, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and somatic techniques.

We are not always trying to figure out what is “wrong.” Sometimes we are exploring the lens through which you have been experiencing yourself, your relationships or your life.

When that lens shifts, something that once felt impossible can suddenly look different.

You may notice an option you could not see before.

You may experience an old memory differently.

You may respond differently to something that once immediately activated you.

You may realize that a belief you have carried for years is not actually yours to keep.

Maybe that is another way of experiencing a miracle.

Not becoming a completely different person but seeing yourself and your life through a wider lens.

Frequently Asked Questions About Miracles, Perspective and Integrative Wellness

What is a miracle according to A Course in Miracles?

Within the spiritual framework of A Course in Miracles, a miracle can be understood as a shift in perception from fear to love. It does not always mean that an external circumstance changes. The miracle may be the new way you see, experience or respond to what is happening.

Why do I feel lost even though my life looks good from the outside?

Feeling lost does not necessarily mean something is wrong. Sometimes the life or identity that once fit you no longer fits in quite the same way. You may be in a period of transition in which the next version of your life is not visible yet. Exploring the conscious and subconscious patterns shaping your experience may help you reconnect with yourself and what feels meaningful now.

How do I find hope again when I feel stuck?

You do not have to know how everything will work out to experience hope. Start by noticing the meaning you are giving your current circumstances and asking whether that interpretation is the only possibility. Sometimes hope begins by allowing for the possibility that there is more happening than what you can currently see.

What does it mean to shift from fear to love?

A shift from fear to love does not mean ignoring problems or pretending everything is okay. It can mean moving from judgment toward curiosity, from control toward trust, or from automatically believing a fearful interpretation toward becoming open to another way of seeing the situation.

Can subconscious work help when I understand my patterns but cannot change them?

Sometimes we can consciously understand why we behave or respond a certain way and still experience the same automatic emotional response. Experiential approaches such as hypnotherapy, IEMT, Mindscaping and NLP offer ways to explore the patterns, associations and perceptions operating beneath our intellectual understanding. Individual experiences vary, and these practices are not substitutes for medical or mental health care.

What is the difference between your work and traditional talk therapy?

My work is experiential and integrates practices that work with both the conscious and subconscious mind. I am an Integrative Wellness Practitioner, not a licensed psychotherapist or medical provider. Sessions may include hypnotherapy, IEMT, NLP, Mindscaping and somatic techniques, depending on the individual and what we are exploring.

Where can I find hypnotherapy and IEMT in Delray Beach or Boca Raton?

How do I know if Grounded Visions Wellness might be right for me?

My work may feel right for you if you are stuck in patterns you already understand, have lost a sense of connection to yourself, are navigating a transition or feel that talking about the problem has not created the shift you are looking for.

You do not have to see the entire path to begin.

You do not even have to know what comes next.

Sometimes the first opening is simply the willingness to consider:

Maybe what I see right now is not all there is.

Perhaps the miracle you have been waiting for is not as far away as you thought.

Perhaps it is already right here.

If you would like to explore the conscious and subconscious patterns shaping your experience, you are welcome to get in touch. Grounded Visions Wellness offers in-person integrative wellness sessions in Delray Beach and virtual sessions.
